The Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Applied Physics Laboratory are hosting the Europa Jupiter System Mission (EJSM) Instrument Workshop on July 15-17, 2009 at Johns Hopkins University – Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland.
The workshop will address items such as EJSM status, plans for instrument selection, model payloads, and technical challenges facing instrument providers (in particular the radiation environment) for both JEO and JGO. Some of the technical discussions will be specific to JEO but would be applicable to the JGO flight element as well. In addition, programmatic topics such as schedules and the AOs will be discussed.
Note that it is expected that any interested parties have done their homework by reviewing the on-line tutorials from 2008 workshop and the on-line documents relating to radiation related activities, as well as the Instrument Guidelines and Contraints document. Please continue to check back periodically in the library as more documents are posted over the next few weeks.

2008 OPFM Instrument Workshop
The first Instrument workshop was held in June 2008. The focus of the first workshop was to introduce the community to the mission concepts for both EJSM and the Titan Saturn System Mission and to expose potential instrument providers to the harsh environments which challenge the designers.
This workshop is not a repeat of the previous workshop and will convey new critical information.
Recommended Tutorial Viewing
We recommend that all potential instrument providers review the tutorials which were produced during the 2008 workshop. These tutorials cover important information which will not be specifically addressed again at the next workshop.
For additional information, please contact the EJSM Instrument Workshop Secretariat
